Leona Liskovec

Founder & Product Designer, Third i Design

I’ve loved how the HEAL Lab brings together people from different worlds. From day one, I felt welcomed as a designer among scientists, students, and researchers. Our open collaboration has shown me how diverse perspectives lead to smarter, more compassionate solutions.

Leona Liskovec is a product designer and founder of Third i Design, a boutique studio dedicated to helping research teams and mission-driven organizations bring their ideas to life through thoughtful, human-centered design. With more than two decades of experience at the intersection of marketing, technology, and behavioral health, she brings a unique blend of strategy, empathy, and systems thinking to her work—focusing on design that not only functions well but feels genuinely human.

Leona began collaborating with the HEAL Lab in early 2024, contributing to focus group research, iterative prototyping, and usability testing for the Writing to Heal Study. She also served as a coauthor on a recent manuscript stemming from that work. Her time in the lab has been both meaningful and formative, allowing her to refine what she calls a grief-informed design approach—recognizing the sensitivity required when designing for people experiencing loss. The experience continues to guide her as she helps others translate complex ideas into accessible, emotionally resonant digital experiences.
