Dr. Angie LeRoy joins TechFest panel on digital mental health innovation

Angie LeRoy, Assistant Professor of Psychology at University of North Florida joins the speakers panel at the disrupt Innovative Health-ology conference

Dr. Angie LeRoy spoke on the Future of Mental Health panel at TechFest’s Disrupt Health, exploring how digital tools, AI, and behavioral science are shaping the next generation of mental health support.

The panel, “Future of Mental Health: Scalable Care for a Growing Crisis,” brought together innovators reimagining how we detect, monitor, and treat anxiety and depression at scale. Fellow speakers included Dr. Sean Orr, Neurologist and Co-Founder of the Neurogenesis Project, Alexandra Field, Clinical Director at the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Centerstone, and moderator Emily Adams, Co-Founder of Transformative Leadership LLC.

“In a world where technology often gets blamed for disconnection and distraction, I’m focused on how we can use it to support emotional well-being,” said Dr. LeRoy. “At the HEAL Lab, we believe digital tools can extend care, access, and understanding.”

She added that it was an honor to share the stage with experts in their fields, and to highlight the HEAL Lab’s work developing a mobile health intervention that prioritizes emotional well-being and caregiver needs.
